Can you believe we are almost halfway through the year? Did you hit your goals for the first half of the year? Did you set any goals? Maybe this was the year you were going to finally get out of pain?

I challenged myself to do my first (and quite possibly my last) marathon this year. Following a training schedule has REALLY helped me up my mileage and tomorrow's "long" run of 10 miles, now feels like an easy day! This amazes me as I didn't know if I would be able to do this.

in 2016, I completed (note I don't say "ran") my first half marathon and my goodness it HURT! I couldn't believe all these other runners skipping back to the hotel after the race, when I was in pain every single step of the way! Well, four years later, I tried it again and felt AMAZING!! I took 30 minutes off my time and was one of the runners skipping back to the car after the race!

What was the difference? I TRAINED for it!

Don't get me wrong - I had tried, albeit a little half-heartedly, to train the first time around, but I wasn't consistent and didn't really put the milage in and so I paid the price - OW! The second time around, I stuck much better to the training, was consistent and got more miles in. Hence it felt much easier and was actually an amazing experience!

How have you been working on your goal to get out of pain? A little half-heartedly or all in and consistently doing the work? If you've struggled with pain for 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or even years - it's not going to resolve overnight. However, a consistent, guided approach CAN help and even totally resolve your pain, depending on your issue.
